Please help me with martial arts?
I want to start a martial art soon. I aready wrestle, but I want to do something else. I am very athletic. I have weak arms, but very strong legs.
I like submission sports like BJJ, but I would rather do a martial arts with more "flashy" moves.... What should I do? PLEASE HELP ME!
Here's the thing. Martial arts, when it comes down to its purest form; strength that you are talking about does not really matter. Its about how much power you can access in each move, hit, kick, or form. Power, not strength. I'd suggest TaeKwonDoe as a starter, because that is the most basic. Don't do crap like 3-hit death class or some bs like that. And, when you start, it'll be boring and stupid; kids half your age will be telling you what to do, but trust me. When you get to 1st degree black belt, your life my as well have changed. Martial Arts i tell you again, is not just about strength. Power, Mind, Patience, Reflex, Speed, Quickness, and Flexibility is only part of the things necessary to really 'learn' martial arts. It's a long and tiring road, but it's worth it. If you truly don't give it all you have, you won't get anywhere. You'll start as a white belt, learn the basic stupid and dumb moves you probably already know. But if you persist, you'll soon be doing things like a flying sidekick, pushing off the opponent in mid-air, spinning in the air and kicking them a second time. And more. So, if you're looking for flashy moves, you'll have to start with the not-so flashy moves. ya digg?
