Bag Large

Going on my first cruise. Does anyone know how large a bag you can take as a carry on instead of checking it?
I heard that it takes forever to get your bags the day you leave and due to health reasons I have to take medicine with food and can get very sick so I would prefer to just take my bags on so I can take them off with me instead of using the bag service but I have never cruised before. I am on Royal Caribbean 4 night Mexico trip from LA. Thanks for your help!
There is no restriction on the hand luggage that you can carry on-board.
The thing to remember is that if you do carry a very large bag on-board that won't fit through the security device, you will have to open it and they will thoroughly search it.
I suggest that you carry your medication with you and leave your luggage to go through the security process and let the crew deliver it to your cabin.

“University educations in the US can’t be worth their astronomical cost.”
jg-
That's an understatement! Thomas Sowell, an economist at Stanford offers the following thought experiment. Imagine you offer a product and the government decides to give grants and loans to people to buy the product. Would you, as a seller of this product, offer to sell it for less than the amount you know the government will subsidize?
Now let’s look at two 16-year-olds purchasing cars. The first one is paying for it with his own money that he earned and saved while the second one is paying for it with money from his parents.
1) Which one is concerned about how much the car is going to cost?
2) Which one is most likely to take better care of the car?
The bottom line is that universities will always set the tuition at a level to get every dollar the government is giving away because they know the students have at least that much to spend. The students really don't care because it's not their hard-earned dollars paying that tuition (even if it's only an illusion since they are often amassing a large student loan debt.) And the underlying pernicious belief driving this government program is the fallacy that everyone needs a college education.
The days are long gone where a degree guaranties a good high-paying job; there are many underemployed college graduates out there. Not only do the great jobs require a college degree but where one ranked in their cohort will typically be the deciding factor on who gets the high-paying jobs in their chosen field. Those who graduate but only by showing up and doing minimal work are left holding the bag–a large outstanding student loan with a job that doesn't provide the income necessary to pay it off.
Employers are not stupid. They understand that educational standards have been lowered so that many people who should have flunked out of college end up graduating. Colleges and universities are a business; they know people have government money to spend on tuition so flunking them out would only eliminate a significant source of income. This would also hurt their future prospects since a school that actually eliminates marginal students would receive less applications from those who just want to glide through school and get one of those high-paying jobs that every college grad is supposed to get.
These days, the facilities necessary to attract the serious students to colleges and universities are quite often paid for on the backs of those who really shouldn’t have been there in the first place.

NASA suffers from three problems:
1: Chronic underfunding
2: Ever-changing priorities
3: Being a US Federal government bureaucracy
1 & 2 go together: Congress and/or the President will produce a new
"plan" which will only be partially funded – NASA will attempt to implement
it by robbing Peter to pay Paul (moving money between programs). The
result is that both programs do not fulfill expectations or down-right fail.
3 is true throughout the entire government, but it is glaringly obvious
here – any corporation would fire deadwood to keep themselves
streamlined. Theres a lot of talent at NASA, but there are a lot of lifers
who simply contribute to its size, not its mission.
When the agency was new, properly funded and had a single mission
(beat the Russians to the moon), it performed stunningly well. It attracted
the best and the brightest and used them to their full potential.
If all of the other non-moon/mars projects were jetisoned, I think you
would see a much higher success ratio. If the projects they were
chartered with were fully and properly funded, things would get better.
Certainly, some of the running costs would be eliminated by getting
rid of people who aren't effectively contributing to the end goals.
However, lets not forget that a HUGE amount of NASA's work has
nothing to do with space flight, but more to do with ground and air
navigation and propulsion technologies. There, it has been quiet, but
remarkably successful. They work hand and hand with the FAA and
the various companies developing aviation equipment to help guide
it into a workable future.
In any case, the "big products" – the high risk undertakings – will always
have high failure rates and though there are lots of reasons within NASA
that the failure rates are higher than need be, it does not alter the
worthwhileness of the endeavor. Its not clear to me that we can make
it commercially worth anybody's effort to go to Mars without major
guarentees from the government – the risks would be too high for
anybody's stockholders to want to engage.
In terms of money, yes, NASA isn't cheap. However, it has always
been easy to cut funding to NASA for more immediate needs. That
money is an investment in our future, both scientifically and
technologically. It may be that the "company" we're investing in has
problems, but there is no other company out there doing it, at least
at that level. Moreover, it is usually less than 3 cents of your tax
dollar. The "tons of money" that people keep referring to is psaltry
compared to the pork, etc, that the government spends elsewhere.
Personally, I favor the idea of creating a new section of NASA or
specializing Code-R (where their budgets come from), whose function
is to simply sponsor promising technology TOWARDS A GOAL. That is,
create prizes for small leaps in technology that get us where we want to
go. The people who run that department have to be smart enough to
be able to recognize what will work and plan, but they themselves do
not produce any technology. All they do is hand out prizes and figure
out what the next prize will be for (like the X-prize consortium).
They are actually beginning to do that. For instance, if you want to
make a killing, give NASA a design for a more pliant, thinner space
glove. You'll make a lot of astronauts happy too.
The point is, it reduces the risks so that companies are more likely
to undertake them, and it keeps NASA out of the low level management
of these programs.
I wouldn't do this with all of NASA, but I would certainly be trying to
figure out how to privatize the parts of it that can be.
As Dr. Hawkings has pointed out, if we don't figure out how to colonize
off the planet within the next century, the species will probably end up
destroying itself, either through disease, war or misadventure.

I believe some time back I said they would have to attack Dr. G.Well, they are doing so, stating she did not follow protocol by opening the skull.I can think of several ways dirt sediment was found in the skull, the mere fact that the body was submerged in water is one, the animal contact with the body yet another.I can also give more than one reason why the body may have lain on the left side at some point, then be found in another position, as I stated earlier animal contact, and let us not forget when Kronk found the body he himself stated he moved the bag and the skull rolled from the bag, thus the body was moved. We could as well surmise that given the amount of water in the area after TSF the body being enclosed in a plastic bag very likely floated and the body shifted as a result. These are just a few of the reasons I feel this dog will not hunt come time for trial.A reasonable thinking person will I believe see there are ways to explain the dirt residue being found on the side of the skull and the fact that the body left in the elements would of course be moved to some extent.

Wow! That's an impressive little summary you have going there. The mixed bag is very interesting how all that played out. I was doing some research on the caucuses this morning myself … I knew there was nothing definite or concrete about them, but I was almost tickeled at how silly they seemed:)
Either way – 1) this will be an interesting year & 2) God is definitely in control (which definitely brings comfort when I look at all the 'potential' leaders of our free world)!

Their definition of large, at 22.5 x 12.5 x 8.5 inches, may be too large for some airlines, but it ultimately depends on the airline, as each one sets its own carry-on policies.
You're better off inquiring on the website of the airline you're looking to fly to see whether they will accept carry-ons of that size.
