Bag Martial Arts
What's the efficiency of these types of martial arts training?
I'm doing one man JKD/ Muay Thai training(no partners). Having trouble deciding. Which of these would be the best if i'm throwing consecutive low/midsection kicks and high punches?
1) Free-standing punching bag(hanging isn't an option)
2) Body Opponent Bag(or BOB Bag)
3) Some other method
If you have any recommendations, feel free to leave them. I already looked at a few of these products, i just needed more opinions.
I think i'm gonna go with a thai heavy bag(leaning toward the vinyl strapped Fairtex) but my problem is the "hanging" part. Since theyre 100 lbs i dont know where to hang them other than the garage.
-I dont want to hang it in the garage(no available space), so where can i hang it inside the house?
are you new to training?
i do must of my work on the heavy bag. not that bob isnt a good target, its great to see a dummy of a person and see what area you are striking. but i would rather have a heavy bag to focus on power and endurance.
and unless there is a bob with the whole body(which there might be) you really wouldnt be able to throw low kicks, so i would go with the punching bag.
only thing is i HATE free standing.
you can also see about hanging up a speed bag or double ended striking bag up to increase timing and eye hand coordination

Are there any websites with instructions on like martial arts?
I wana learn martial arts and like fighting for a cardio workout on my bunching bag and dont have time to join a class or gym that does it, i was wondering if there were like online sites that show you some moves.
true, i guess im just looking for a little guidence rather then just thrown punches at the bag
Yes there are websites like that, but I can't recommend any of them if you are interested in learning martial arts. If your goal is to learn martial arts you need a qualified instructor for the best results. If you just want a workout(exercise), try a tae bo video or another exercise video ie extreme90 bootcamp,etc.

I believe they thought he was all talk with no walk like they think with most kung fu martial artists. What people don't realize is that Bruce Lee (along with other kung fu martial artists) are trained to kill and maim. MMA gloves prevent them from doing the proper grappling/trapping moves to set up their big hits. That, and MMA simply doesn't allow well over half of the attacks associated with Kung Fu

Ok so remember you can order OFF the menu where ever you go! If you browse the menu and dont see a healthy section- TELL the waiter/waitress what you want (I ask for a grilled chicken breast with a side of steamed plain veggies ) Feel free to ask for what you WANT- be assertive!!
