Black Youth
is rapp music the "dumming" down the black youth of this generation?
there is very little that is positive abouth rapp music today. many ppl will call this comment hateful, but since this music is so influentual, it has had more of a negative affect on black(african american) youth. pants to the angles, show yo undies, they better be clean, no brown stuff here. b!tches, and sh!t like that, nothing psoitive comes from rapp.
I think yes and no.
Rap is a mirror image of a life in the black community, the good and the bad. While some conscious hip artists rap about it as a way of explaining their harsh backgrounds and their come-up out of the ghetto, others glorify the degrading of women, drug use and gangbangin. It is the these people who are saturating the youths mind with the gangster mentality. The industry is to blame as well for marketing this music and putting out there on the radio. Rap artists dont realize the responsibility they have to educating the youth, not turning them into hoodrats.

Think Battle Royale, but with more investigation of the society that would allow such a game to happen. I can’t speak on whether or not it was really intended for adults, but it doesn’t feel like she’s skimped on any of the violence you’d expect in a book about a game where kids kill each other in an arena. I suppose she could have gone into a lot more detail, but it’s not all “fade to black” style stuff, designed for children. I loved it, personally. It’s also a really quick read, so if you get through Hunger Games and don’t like it, you’ve only wasted a few hours (and $10 or so if you chose to buy it).

It’s very simple, really. Hign unemplyment, more people on the dole, more people dependent on the government for their very existance. Food stamp usage is at an all time high. Unemployment in many areas of the country is in the mid-teens. Here in Detroit, it is over 14%. It is 45% for black youth. Rising taxes keep companies from investing & growing. or even keeping their doors open. Ms Nancy is quite the little Socialist, isn’t she? The more people are dependent on government, the more voters the Democrats are buying. Quite a dandy set-up. Sounds like “The Perfect Storm” to me.
