I want to buy the one that will best suit the sport Mauy Thai Boxing. So can you please suggest which one is better and let me know why it will best suit my Mauy Thai training? And can you also let me know where i can buy one of these BOB or slam man for a decent price?

Bob Huggins: 10 Strategies for Guarding Your Opponent's Best Plays (DVD) $39.99 With Bob Huggins, West Virginia University Head Coach; over 600 career wins;former University of Cincinnati Head Coach, '00-'01 National Coach of the Year,Conference USA "Coach of the Decade" (Cincinnati)A change from a flat triangle theory of defense to an "On Line, Up Line" philosophy has been key to Coach Huggins' defensive productivity. His new philosophy says the offense can throw it over you but not through you, meaning his defenders are directly in the passing lane. This forces the offense to catch the ball further from the basket and out of prime scoring areas. By pushing them out from the basket, passes become longer and more difficult for the offense to make. Ball screens and back screens are two of the games best offensive weapons, and Huggins breaks down his views on how his teams stop each. Core defensive skills are shared in the drills on this DVD; positioning, helping, closing out, pushing the ball out, guarding back cuts, back screens, and down screens are all covered. Excellent defensive instruction from one of the best in the game! 65 minutes. 2007. |

Opponent Voices: Robert Bly and Faz L H Sn Da Larca $135.42 This study evaluates the political and protesting discourse by means of nature, color and death imagery in The Light Around the Body by Robert Bly, one of the most effective and leading poets of America and Our Vietnam War (trans. Mufit Bilyap, 1967) by Faz l H sn Da larca, an idiosyncratic voice who has been the paragon of innovation and experiments in Turkish poetry. The comparative study on two poets points out a common response melted in the pot of human without any ethnic, racial or national discrimination to a historical war in which human is threatened by endless worries, starvation, instability and tyranny. The study aiming to contribute to the familiarity of two different literatures, also tries to demonstrate through nature, color and death that the self bears many similar attitudes with the other and thus underlines hollowness of the war. Mma sparring help and improvement?
I want to make my takedowns to be like gsp, i want my defense to be like lyoto machida, i want my offense to be like bj penn and anderson silva, and i want my ground defense and ofense to be like frank mir. How could i make my stand up offense be more better like bj penn and silva? They could both weave and bob well and i want to be like that, gsp can pull off a takedown without getting hit, i want to be more like that, i want my ground fighting to be like frank mir with good submissions. When i spar i like to wait for my opponent to make the first move so i could counter but my opponent always doesnt attack first so how do i make them attack me? What about my takedown, if they do come after me like forrest griffin, should i shoot for a takedown tjen like gsp? What about my standup offense, how could i get body shots to them so i could getthem gassed for a takedown or a flury of combos? Youtube vids and great explanations would help nice:)
I'm not an expert on take downs. I believe though that a large part of having solid take downs is in your leg strength, and ability to spring quickly in for the take down. Ever notice the monstrous size of GSP's legs? Weight training for your lower body may be beneficial for this. Other methods to strengthen your "spring strength" would be to hold a horse stance for long periods of time (you can google images of this, it's pretty simple), as it's known to help with conditioning/lower body conditioning. There's the option of simply practicing your take downs against no target, or better yet against a training dummy or heavy bag.
Much of the ability to dodge well is built in, I believe. You're born with it, or you're not. You can try to hone it however, with a few methods. Attach a string to the ceiling, and a tennis ball to the bottom of the string. Tap or punch the tennis ball to get it swinging, then simply avoid its return swings. Try to circle around and move as it swings, to help build an instinctive mobility into your fighting style. Furthermore, you can even try to throw a few punches at it as it swings, to help improve your striking accuracy and to make its swing paths more erratic. Another method to hone your avoidance abilities, would be to have a partner put on some gloves, and throw strikes at you. You don't strike back, merely avoid and evade. For this, you have to make sure your partner understands that they must still fight realistically, as if you'd be countering and etc. If they drop all of their defenses and just throw mad flurries at you, that helps no one to improve.
I'm not a ground fighter, so I can give little advice here. I suggest doing many kinds of stretches often to try to greatly improve your flexibility. I know that when practicing some ground with friends, my natural flexibility and added dexterity from stretching helps me GREATLY. Never be afraid to work for position. This is something that great grapplers and great strikers share in common, I feel. Don't worry about landing a sweet submission right off the bat. Be aware, and understand that an opportunity might present itself, but they might be able to easily slip out of your hold. In those cases, it's something of crap shoot as to wether you get the submission or not. Work for position. Get the sure thing. "I'd rather be working for a salary, than waiting to win the lottery" or something like that. The only other advice I can give on ground work is this: Don't be afraid to strike. When practicing ground work (outside of the gym an' such) we allow no striking (because of no gloves, etc). Always remember that just because you're on the ground doesn't mean you can't continue to chip away. Even on your back or in other awkward positions, do what you can to burn him out. Using regular punches might not always be the best choice on the ground, but use hammerfists or chops if you must. And keep in mind, that even a short elbow can still open a cut.
You want to be a good counter striker, but are scared that you'll fight another counter striker (or, possibly just someone that doesn't want to take the first shot)? Feints are your friend. Mislead your opponent. Twitch. Make them flinch. Make them think you're throwing something. Then they'll either button down defensively and you're free to start chiselling, or they'll try to throw a counter strike. If they try to counter strike your feint, then you'll be able to counter their counter strike. Practice makes perfect though. Much of counter striking is being able to read your opponent, as well. Watch videos of fights, and try to learn more about tells and identifying them.
You want to be able to land body shots? Pretend you're a head hunter. Throw feints towards their head, or weak "misleader" shots. Toss some quick jabs out there to make them nervous. Make them think you're going to keep throwing to their head. Let them think you're looking for that knock out. With enough time and some luck, you'll soon have them trying to duck punches that might not land (or if they do, might not hurt them) anyway. You'll have them bringing their arms up to protect their face, which in turns exposes the ribs and stomach. It's at that time when you can happily throw some shots to their midsection. If you take it a step further, this could even lead to a knockout. People tend to over compensate. Do as states, mislead them with weak stuff to the head, then start landing clean, solid, nasty body shots. They'll feel like they've just been fooled, and they might become overly protective of their midsection. Then when you start throwing head shots again, they'll think you're still just trying to fool them to set up another body shot. They'll keep their hands lower to protect their ribs, and then you can land some headshots. Mixed martial arts, keep it mixed.
That's about all I can muster right about now. If I think of any other tips to give ya, I'll shoot you an email.
