Can someone help me install my RAM?

I recently purchased 2x2gb RAM sticks from 'PC Nextday' to replace my 1x1gb.

The RAM spec is 667mhz DDR2 240 and I got EXACTLY that, even the same make 'Rendition'.

I replaced the 1gb by simply removing it and fitting the 2x2gb sticks in place of the 1gb (while the computer was off of course)

The computer boots fine and loads vista, however I can be using the computer just in general with a few appliations open and it just restarts itself!

I know its the RAM because I put the 1gb stick back and now it works fine!

So what am I doing wrong?

Its probably worth checking your dxdiag (run --> dxdiag) to see if the computer recognises both sticks of RAM. Its very common for a stick to be faulty, in which case you can RMA. Its worth doing a test on the RAM. Memtest86 is the best out there but it is a bit technical. You could try running the PC with just one stick in then the other, that will probably tell you which is at fault, but its best to move them around as little as possible. Still, I'd recommend you try that. Also check with your motherboard manufacturer that the RAM you have bought is compatible. I bought some recently and it turns out it wasn't compatible so it doesn't recognise the second stick of RAM.
