What does an airplane Black Box consist of ?

The Black Box which is Orange in color and is used in Aeroplanes to know what happened at the last moment in case of a mishap.What does it consist of ? What is the circuitry inside the Black box? Where can I find more information about it ?
What is the material used for it as it is not easily damaged.

I'm not so sure about the material their made of bu anyway its something able to withstand very high temperatures (up to 800 deg C) and severe impacts with little or no damage at all. To be precise, there are in fact two "black boxes" to be carried aboard each civil (and since 10-12 years ago, all military as well) aircraft:
one is the so called "cockpit voice recorder" which is the one that most commonly is referred to as the black box, and it is nothing else than a recorder which "records" on a tape the last 30-40mins of every conversations having taken place inside the cockpit befoer the crash or accident; this can record both comms between the cockpit and the air traffic control and comms between pilots themselves

the other one, probably less common, is the "flight data recorder" which is another essential tool in uinvestigating accidents and aircrashes: it provides a record of engine status and output, movement of the aircraft's control surfaces and planned route, altitudes, climbs and descents....

Whereas the flight data recorder is automatically controlled by the flight computer, the cockpit voice recorder is connected to a circuit breaker inside the cockpit and can be (though that's ILLEGAL) disconnected by pulling up the cb

What is that black box on the phone cord on my cellphone charger?

Virtually half of all electrical gadgets I've used, most which "charge things," has this heavy, black box out from which the prongs jut out. Because of this box, I cannot plug two "boxed" devices next to each other. I need to space them out. Nowadays, they even make "spaces" on surge protectors specifically to accommodate these little brick-shaped things.

My question: what are they called, and why are they needed?

its called a power transformer, although some folks call them wall-warts.

its purpose is to take the 120v wall AC voltage and convert it to the probably 3to 12V DC voltage your phone or other device wants.

if you look on the transformer it will tell you exactly what voltage its transforming from and to. compare a few and youll find that they have different output voltages.

   Think Battle Royale, but with more investigation of the society that would allow such a game to happen. I can’t speak on whether or not it was really intended for adults, but it doesn’t feel like she’s skimped on any of the violence you’d expect in a book about a game where kids kill each other in an arena. I suppose she could have gone into a lot more detail, but it’s not all “fade to black” style stuff, designed for children. I loved it, personally. It’s also a really quick read, so if you get through Hunger Games and don’t like it, you’ve only wasted a few hours (and $10 or so if you chose to buy it).

   Good points Brendan. I'm interested to see how MMA and PPVs continue to evolve. If you look at boxing, black fighters have not been able to sell PPVs in recent years, outside, of course, from Mike Tyson…who is a whole different kind of beast. But Floyd Mayweather couldn't even sellout arenas in Michigan until 24/7 and ODLH. Even now, as the main A-side, his fight with JMM sold terribly and is probably the real reason the fight was rescheduled. Sugar Shane can't sell as the A-side. Neither can B-Hop. For some reason, the black community has never really gotten behind its fighters. But the Irish will sellout MSG to see Duddy and Jews love watching Salita (who is dreadful to watch) and Mexicans will rally behind their countrymen, as will Filipinos, Brits, Germans, et al.

   The UFC is dominated by white fighters. It will be interesting to see, as more black fighters rise to prominence, if PPV sales will be as good when they are the A-side. I actually think sales will stay strong because in many ways people buy the UFC product more than the fighters (but, no doubt, people outside of the UFC fanbase will pay to watch Brock). Just throwing it out there.

   Jack, thank you for this article. It is a beautiful story. As I read this article, I am once again reminded of our complex society. In many aspects our world has vastly changed for the good and for the not so good. As far as racially there have definitely been some changes; however, I personally feel the changes have not been all that significant, in spite of having elected a black President.

   I am a black female, married to a Caucasian male. My husband and I attend two churches together, both twice a week. We attend his home Church on Sunday and Tuesday (him more Tuesday's than I) and my home church Saturday and Wednesday. We are very active in ministry at my home church and sometimes he teaches the men's bible study on Tuesday nights at his home church.

   I have attended my home church for approximately 11 years and it is what my Pastor (a wonderful Hispanic man, married to a lovely Caucasian woman) would call multi-cultural which he defines as a church which represents multiple races and cultures in various ministries of the church and being a 10,000 membership church we have at least 20 to 30 help ministries and that many or more interest groups.

   My husband's home church which I have attended for 6 years, has a membership of approximately 350 and is what my Pastor would call multi-racial, which he defines as a church with different races and cultures that do not represent the church in the various ministries.

   In my opinion, 30 years later I believe that although both churches mentioned above are compromised of different ethnic groups, there are still significant predjuices. For example, my home church being approximately 65% black, is often faced with some people not wanting to join or remain members due to the church being predominantly black, the pastor being animated, the worship to emotional, the preaching in your face, stepping on your toes and the overall traditional black style.

   My Pastor is quite deliberate, purposeful in trying to assure that our church does not represent just one ethnic group and he not only encourages but also allows many gifting styles to be expressed, as long as they in line with God's Word. I believe these are just some of reasons the church has grown so large in just 15 years; I know they are what drew me. Unfortunately, for some it is just simply not enough or perhaps it is too much? These reasons have been told to me personally by Caucasians as well as Hispanics as reasons for leaving the church, even upon joining and/or attending for a few months and in some cases a few years.

   My husband's home church which is 90% or more Caucasian, has a very difficult time attracting and keeping blacks, Hispanics as well as other ethnic groups; in my opinion due to the traditional Caucasian style of singing, preaching, and the different giftings and ethnic styles not being encouraged or allowed to be expressed. This is my opinion as no one has ever told me why they left my husband's church; I am simply going by observation and experience.

   For myself I believe the different worship, preaching, teaching, and gifting styles of the two churches I attend play a small role in the reason I have not left my home church and attended my husband's church solely but I cannot speak for him.

   We would like to think that racial tensions are pretty much of the past; however, they are quite alive today and most often the biggest racial divide still today, are in God's house or amongst “the believer.”

   When someone of a different hue walks into a church today they usually go unnoticed which was not the case 30 years ago; however, in my opinion the gap still has not been bridged nearly enough.
