What is the difference between groin muscles and hip adductors?

Or is it two words for the same group of muscles.

Groin muscles are the muscles of the inner thigh near the genitals right? The ones involved for a box splits?

the groin muscles technically are hip adductors b/c in that area those are your quads: adductor magnus, adductor longus, adductor brevis and rectus femoris.

   I don't much like Krav Maga. Before I knew a lot about martial arts, I used to think it would be the best thing to learn, bought books and manuals on it and generally acted like an uninformed fanboy.

   Imi Sde-Or did create something good, but the publicity machine behind it spiralled out of control. There are too many McDojos and there's a strong tendency to rip off techniques from other arts without acknowledging their origin. There's even a clip on youtube.com called "fight like Jason Bourne" which consists of 2 KM guys in Gis (talk about culturally confused) in clear denial of the fact that the Bourne fight choreo was done by Jeff Imada, a JKD/Kali instructor under Dan Inosanto. Everyone I know who does those arts (I'm an instructor with about 7 years training experience so that's a few people) is really pissed off about it.

   I'm not saying that ALL KM classes are bunk but there's a lot of bad ones out there. Some of the knife defence I saw at SENI was shameful. Then again, I train Kali so I think about knife attacks a lot. I guess it looks better than the responses I've seen for a lot of Japanese martial arts.

   As a rule, if a martial arts instructor doesn't or can't answer your questions, he's not worth his salt. The problem is that some brands get big enough that people need to learn them. Krav Maga is one of these. All that "Ultimate Israeli Killer Commando" shtick is often a smokescreen for some guy who did a 1-month black belt course and is a little insecure about how good he really is. I've cross-trained BJJ and those instructors really pay attention to what you're doing and give you constant correction when you're rolling. At £80 a month I'd expect them to and they'd be a shame on the Gracie name if they didn't.

   You want to get better at striking? Practice more. Muay Thai is good, plus it'll condition you for sparring like nobody's business.

   As for your nightmare situation, why not just choke the dude out and then call the cops?
