how do you cook the best lasagna?
I cooked lasagna once, I did it from the barilla box instruction, it came out alright, but I want to know if you know of a very good tasty recipe for lasagna. if so please let me know detail by detail. Gracias.
1 pound sweet Italian sausage
3/4 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup minced onion
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
2 (6.5 ounce) cans canned tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
12 lasagna noodles
16 ounces ricotta cheese
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 pound mozzarella cheese, sliced
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
In a Dutch oven, cook sausage, ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until well browned. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water. Season with sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons parsley. Simmer, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain noodles, and rinse with cold water. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, remaining parsley, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
To assemble, spread 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange 6 noodles lengthwise over meat sauce. Spread with one half of the ricotta cheese mixture. Top with a third of mozzarella cheese slices. Spoon 1 1/2 cups meat sauce over mozzarella, and sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Repeat layers, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil: to prevent sticking, either spray foil with cooking spray, or make sure the foil does not touch the cheese.
Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil, and bake an additional 25 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
Wow, from your posts one can readily see you’re a writer. I note that so far of the three areas of interest on your blog; TKD and writing are your primary interests and you write with insight about them both.As you already know my thing was Judo and JuJitsu, which I started 49 years ago in SF as a 10 year old boy. We lived in the Mission district which gave a caucasian kid plenty of opportunities to find black eyes, cuts and bruises that my mother grew very tired of quickly. She made a good move signing me up for Judo and getting me boxing instruction so her gentle natured little boy could hold his ground when the situation required it. I have been consumed by the Martial Arts ever since. Now i teach and practice something more akin to hand to hand or Krav Maga although I am not officially associated with Krav Maga, Kapap, Hagana or any of the Israeli Martial Arts – excellent though they may be.I read a lot of books on the craft of writing, not to be a writer but top enjoy my reading more. Like yourself I read constantly and have a wide horizon of interests. I am also interested in D/s but from the /s side of things. I live in Mass as well. This is the end of my introduction, I do look forward to your entries when you choose to make them.My absolute best to you,Don

The .MOV file format is not supported by windows movie maker. Use an application to convert the file or use a video editing application that supports the .mov file format.
I recommend using StashSpace.Com's video editor. It supports the .mov format as well as many others and is very easy to use. Plus it is free. Check them out at or give them a call. You can also send the company video tapes and they will add them to your account for you. Good Luck!
