truthfully ur gana get ur ass handed to u ur first 2 months. ive been training for about a year and my first 3 months where getting tapped out by lighter and younger kids you shouldn't go Straight into mma , u should first try to get a good ground fighting. you should learn take downs , and submissions which u can use ur friend as a training partner. now good work outs i would say run, run as much as u can get as much conditioning as u can cause it will help u when the other person is dead tired and u are ready to go another 3 to 4 rounds. hope this helps :)

Everlast leather with weighted handles..soak the leather with neatsfoot oil or mineral oil lubicate the bearings in the handle with tri flow teflon lubricant and you will have one kick a$$ rope...to determine the proper length of the rope stand on it with your feet shoulder with apart..the rope should come to the height of your belt..the rope NOT including the handles...

I love your pic of the dogs by the laptop. I can just image the tail thumps and slight whining saying “well, come on – let's go NOW!” But please be careful with that jump rope. I flinched when I first read that. I would have to put on wrist braces so I wouldn't rotate my bad wrists and pad the handles so I wouldn't squeeze too hard. My hips are okay, but the knees not so great. And jumping would play havoc on the balls of my feet even on carpet or soft grass. So, I could jump rope but I'd certainly pay a drastic price later. But for those who can do it – more power to you! – Teri

just take it nice and slow start with sit ups/ curl ups, go jogging three or four times a week, eat healthier for example cereal bars instead of cookies/chips and juice instead of soft drinks, also get into the dark chocolate Habit , and other things like that. jumping rope is an excellent sport. buy yourself a rope it doesn't cost much, plus jumping rope is good for your heart. :) hope this helped.- Alex
