Boxing Shorts Ankle
My cat keeps bringing me " presents".?
I have 2,female 5 y/o domestic short hair cats.Both are fixed.I've had them since they were 8 weeks old.In the past 3 months,one of them has developed a habit of taking my son's small stuffed animals, like beanie babies, and carrying them in her mouth while softly meowing.She literally goes into my son's toy box to fetch them. They wind up all over the house and most of them end up next to my bed.I've had cats most of my life, but they've been males.Is this a girl thing?Why is she doing this?And what can I do about it? This seems to be a mostly night time activity for her.I'm going to sprain an ankle one morning if she keeps this up.

The most likely answer is she thinks they are her kittens and is bringing them to the safest place or person in the house (ie you). It is more likely to happen with neutered females, but I have had spayed males do it as well. There is little you can do. If there are certain toys you don't want her touching a little bit of lemon or orange oil will discourage her (be sure to cehck first that it won't damge the toy)
