Free Standing Punching

BOB or Slam man, or other 'bag?

Hi after something for home to practice my striking (punches, elbows and kicks).

I remember BOB and slam man from some time ago, but not tried them before.

Can anyone recommend which is better and/or an alternative free standing punch bag they have used?
BOB in UK is around £300 ($600 ish), US price is really good compared to us!
would a BOB be better for practicing elbows and uppercuts..etc as well as kicks?

The beauty of BOB is that he's a decent substitute for another human for strike training. Unfortunately, I've never seen a human with a spongy face. That said, it's my opinion that BOB's real purpose is in target training, but can be misleading because it's so forgiving. Note that most of the parts of BOB on the human body would be hard points: he's mainly skull and chest.

Unfortunately, I've never trained with a slam man. I've heard mixed reviews of the product, and it's not something I'd use.

For a free-standing punching bag, Century has a few (I believe they make the WaveMaster but I'm not sure). These are okay, but a good kick can move them, and they tend to start to leak water after a while.

If you have the room, you might consider a hanging heavy bag stand. These can be easily weighted into place and hold a selection of heavy bags, but take up a lot of room.

   Thanks for the comment! FYI: I saw at Dick's Sporting Goods, that they had Free standing punching bag. You just fill the bottom with sand, so that it doesn't tip over. The cost at my local store was $99.00

   I certainly not advocating panic, but if the government didn't prepare, and there was a serious outbreak, people would condemn them for doing nothing. True, most of the time, the flue is a relatively mild disease, but its nature is to mutate, so each year, several thousand people die from it — and the so-called "Spanish" influenza of 1919 was one of the biggest killers in history, killing more people than WWI. I would rather the government prepared for a non-event than to be surprised. Consider the effect an epidemic would have on the struggling economy, as people stop going to places where crowds gather — schools, theaters, malls, etc.

   Do you know what..? If you are willing to work hard to get what you want it, why not just get the best one regardless you are amateur ..instead wasting time for using junk shit that you may need to sell it or perhaps wasting your money not to start with something better equipments to learn with….Shut up and get to WORK and stay out collect unemployment!!
