Gloves White Gold

I know this is early... But would I look good?
I have blue/green eyes, palish skin, and light (almost dark blonde) brown hair. For prom, I am wearing a dark midnight blue dress with white gloves that come slightly above my elbow, a pearl/diamond (fake) choker with a gold (again, fake) clasp. I'm planning on wearing pearl earrings and some kind of shinny (if not more pearls!) thing in my hair. Would I look good?
PS: If your wondering where I got this idea, it's from the cartoon movie Anastasia, her gown that she wears at the Russian Ballet.
Is wearing gloves the in thing? Then wear them. It would have been nice to wear silver instead of pearl but I guess you will still look pretty. You should think about wearing silver shoes to go with the blue dress.

I like the outfit, it's very current. And I like that the boots are a bit mussed up – that's the look. You always mix things up a bit – not quite grungy hipster, nor all-black Style Zeitgeister, but somewhere in between. It's always hard, though, when tucking into boots that low, to keem them from puddling up out of the opening after you sit down and they get pulled up from the knees…
But is the Zegna jacket cropped? It stops above your jeans, and those DHs don't look that low-rise.

“But let’s say that a group of people do get up and argue a common position about something they want the general meeting to agree to do. Obviously this is very bad because it makes a mockery of the very idea of a general meeting. (These people should use a Men In Black-style device to wipe ideas from their heads before they take their seats.)”Here you’ve hit the core of the question. I apologise for not articulating myself clearly in my original post. I’m not asking people to wipe their brains before entering a general meeting, but I am asking them to open their minds a bit. The aim of the general meeting, or the assembly, is to incorporate the information and perspectives that exist around the movement. With a ‘broad line of march’ already decided, it is difficult to open up to different ideas, and especially, it is difficult to compromise with people with a different ‘broad line of march’. However, different directions inevitably exist in a movement – at least they always have in my experience. The ‘movement’ nearly always has a clearly defined, public set of goals (in this case defeating fees and cuts), and a less public, diverse, and often mutually conflicting set of directions (e.g. seizing state power through electoral or revolutionary routes, destroying or fighting the state, fostering collective consciousness, or fostering individualist, autonomous consciousness). Being involved in any kind of successful collective social process requires being open to the possibility that you yourself will be changed by that process. If people enter a process (a ‘movement’) unwilling to allow themselves to be changed by it in some small way, then the movement simply will not happen. Two more points – 1. I’m not opposed to caucusing or arguing as a faction because it is hierarchical, authoritarian, or morally wrong in some way. I’m opposed to it because my own experience seems to have proven that it doesn’t work. It limits the potential for activity within a movement, it drives away new people, it puts a block on the single defining characteristic of a social movement (the fact that it moves social relations). Conflating collective-factional argument with autonomous action misses the point entirely. The former saps the energy and dynamism of a social movement, the latter provides an outlet for the people who want to act. I don’t necessarily support the idea of autonomous action – for most people it is a last-resort response to the crushingly slow, dull, unresponsive and impossible conditions within formally democratic decisionmaking processes.2. It is justified to refrain from naming any single political group – when I look at the groups on the trotskyist/leninist left, I see an attitude and a mode of operating that only varies by the degree to which it is implemented. The vast majority of people who call themselves ‘trotskyists’ or ‘leninists’, and the vast majority of the social formations that have formed up around these labels, are a huge drag on social change in my experience. It seems to me irrelevant what lenin or trotsky actually say about decisionmaking processes, as the character of the leninist/trot groups in the UK is so remarkably uniform, with the exception of maybe a few good SP or AWL branches. The only positive thing that can be said about the approach taken by the AWL is that it doesn’t engage in bureaucratic manipulation – however it does decide on a ‘line of march’ before collective decisionmaking processes have begun. The positive thing about the AWL is that it engages in LESS of the manipulation tactics that are used by all the other groups. Its advantage is that it is less effective at doing what the rest of the trotskyist/leninist left does.
