im UFC-style fighting a friend this weekend, Need tips.?

im 15, 6.0, 155 pounds i wrestled last year for 8th grade and im in my first year of football. I'm in pretty good shape, have a 4 pack, and am about the same strength as he is. Ive been in 2 fights before. He's been in a few. were both friends, so were using UFC Grappling gloves. I need to win this fight. I need tips or strategies.

Uh, yeah. Here's a tip. Stop having unsanctioned "UFC-style" fights when neither of you have any training or close-by medical attention. I bet you're not even wearing mouth guards or cups. This is stupid behavior. Join an honest-to-God MMA gym, learn the techniques (and CONTROL!) and go spar there.

I've been training MMA for years, so I'm not some sort of hater. But there's nothing good that can come out of some junior high kids punching each others teeth out.

How do I prevent my knuckles from bleeding and bruising when hitting the heavy bag? ?

I boxed for a brief period in high school, only for about six months or so. Anyway, I went and bought a heavy bag to practice with and just have some fun on, and my knuckles are killing me. I bought some UFC style grappling gloves to use as bag gloves, I'm wondering if maybe I need tape also? Will my knuckles callas? Do I need more equipment? Am I hitting the bag too hard?

I would get some BOXING bag gloves and invest in a good pair so I would advise you not to go to your local sports store as they usually sell cheap junk.

Also, buy a pair of handwraps and learn how to put them on correctly. Many people just wrap their hands with them but there is a way to properly put them on so you protect your hands.

The next thing is conditioning...you just have to conditioning your fists...I wouldn't say you are hitting the bag too hard but you could be hitting the bag wrong.

   there is a slight diffrence

   ufc gloves have more padding around the knuckle area. they didnt put much padding in the grappling gloves bc u dont punch when you grapple.
   these are to make sure you dont break your findgers when you grapple. these are great for bag work and pad work. if you dont know the diffrence then you dont need ufc gloves
