Hanger Mount
Center pull brake cable tensioning?
I have a bike with a center pull brakes. Not the newer?? kind with the pads mounted to the frame. There is a hanger j plate that has a hole screw on top, and a cable in the "j" on the bottom that goes to each side of the brake arms. What is the best procedure to tension a new brake cable which goes through the hole screw without an assistant to help? The best way would seem to want 3 or 4 hands... and that is not me. 
I use a clamp to adjust them until they ALMOST touch the rims. That way I can have my other hands free. They sell those clamps that can easily be adjusted with one hand while holding the brakes with the other.
