High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The World Kickboxing Network (WKN) is a professional kick boxing and thai boxing organization and is one of the largest professional sanctioning organizations in the world, represented in more than 100 countries. WKN was created in late 1994 as a subsidiary of International Sport Karate Association (ISKA) to capture new markets, as ISKAs operations were concentrated in the North American market. But the predominantly American administration of ISKA considered WKN as a threat to its authority and the two organizations fully split in late 1998 and ever since WKN runs as a fully independent fight sport organization. Long before boxing and kickboxing became buzz words in the fitness industry, real boxers were shadowboxing to music in an effort to improve their levels of rhythm, timing, agility, and speed. Authentic Cardio Boxing explains how to add these skills to the list of cardiovascular benefits provided by engaging in an aerobic workout. The DVD details how to get back to the authentic fundamentals of pugilism by learning to perform actual boxing techniques that are derived from the ring, thereby adding a shot of adrenaline to an organization’s cardio workouts. Among the topics covered: lecture, warm-up, workout, and cool-down. Produced in cooperation with IDEA Health & Fitness Association.

Can someone give me a good kick boxing program for heavy bag use?
I am sick of running on the treadmill, using the elliptical, and stairclimber. I always read if you do something you enjoy like a sport cardio is more fun, and you will be less likely to slack. I love martial arts, and kickboxing. However my gym doesn't have any classes (that I take seriously). They have your average pilates, spinning, and "cardio kickboxing" classes. I'm not interested in shadow boxing for an hr. They however DO have upper cut bags, and heavy bags. Can anyone give me a good program for begginers. Example: Warm up 5 minutse shadow boxing/jump rope/jog, do intervals of 2-3 minute rounds with jab, cross, kick combos. Something like that. Thanks!
I did taekwondo for about 5 years. Those did kill me, but didn't add any upper body workout. I loved tkd, but it didn't have enough punching. I have kicking drills down, but want to add punching to round out my ability.
What you listed sounds good.
I'm going to assume you are already in good shape.
One very challenging kick we do are called "doubles", these originated in Olympic taekwondo in the 2000 Olympic games. Now I have seen Lyota Machida and Miguel Torres use them in cage fights.
The bag version is different than the competition version, but very challenging.
Anyway, taking your stance, right leg back, throw a rear leg round kick (right leg) and then immediately throw a left leg round kick, do this continuously for a minute, alternating left right round kicks. Try to turn your hip each time, and kick at least waist high for added difficulty.
Here is an example.

Try mixing this in with some jump rope, some hand techniques and make a nice little interval system, building up.
