How much will a 50%cotton 50%polyester heavyweight t-shirt shrink when washed?

What does 'heavyweight' mean, anyways? And what's different about a 'heavyweight' t-shirt compared to a regular shirt?

Heavy weight means that the fabric is thicker. Only natural fibers like cotton shrink, unless they are pre shrunk. If you want to avoid shrinkage don't wash in hot water and don't dry it in the dryer.

Carhartt Men's Heavyweight Cotton Thermal Underwear Top

Carhartt Men's Heavyweight Cotton Thermal Underwear Top

$33.95

When you want the unrivaled, lush, warm feel of cotton, pull on the Men's Carhartt Heavyweight Cotton Thermal Underwear Top. Made with 9.5 ounce 100% ringspun cotton thermal, this top is 30% heavier than most other cotton thermals, trapping more body heat and providing that thick, dense enveloping feel of comfort and contentment. We all know cotton is a poor choice for high intensity, sweat-inducing activities, but for low intensity output, and casual wear, it definitely has a feel we love. Flat-locked seams reduce the potential for chafing, and a low shrinkage knit means you won't have to give it to your girlfriend after one washing. It also has a rib knit collar and cuffs for added heat retention and a lasting fit. From casual pub wear, to a day in the shop, enjoy the warmth, durability and comfort of the Heavyweight Cotton Thermal Underwear Top for men from Carhartt.

Arizona Diamondbacks Momentum Heavyweight Tee

what size shirt do get?! please answer.?

Okay I usually shop at hot topic, and the band tshirts are men sizes.
And im a medium in mens.

Now I found this shirt online that I really really want.

Here the decription:
This is a brand NEW heavyweight 100% cotton, MADE TO ORDER,  t-shirt.

ALL SIZES AVAILABLE (Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large)

SIZING CHART All our T-shirts are regular fit, unisex sizes.

Small: Length 28" - Width 18"
Medium: Length 29" - Width 20"
Large: Length 30" - Width 22"
X-Large: Length 31" - Width 24"
2X-Large: Length 32" - Width 26"
3X-Large: Length 33" - Width 28"

Now, my question is are the "regular sizes" men sizes?

And if im a medium in mens, should I stay a medium in regular sizes?

Thanks!

Medium should be fine, but these are giving you the width and the length, you can compare the "measurements" of the shirts you have now, just to be sure.

[...] Dandy Damask Published August 9th, 2007 Crafting This is one of the fabrics from Michael Miller that I’ve been sewing with lately. It’s a heavyweight cotton oxford that just says classy to me.  It’s called Dandy Damask.  I’ve seen it in a quilt-weight cotton at my quilt shop as well.  First up, a wall pocket. [...]

Care to explain why these CdG ones are more likely to ‘hold up to wear and tear’? Are they particularly heavyweight cotton? Hidden rivets? Something?
