Removal & Installation
To Remove:
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the glove compartment door.
Remove the plenum tray.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Remove the blower motor resistor mounting screws and remove the resistor.
Front blower motor resistor removal/installation
To Install:
CAUTION
Do not bend the resistor coils or allow them to touch each other.
Install the resistor in the plenum.
Tighten the mounting screws to 12 in. lbs. (1.4 Nm).
Connect the electrical connector to the resistor assembly.
Install the plenum tray.
Install the glove compartment door.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Check the operation of the blower motor at all speeds.
The heater plenum is the plastic housing under the dash that the heater motor is inside of. I'm guessing that there is a tray (or panel) that is removable to access the blower motor resistor.
Locate the blower motor and look around the outside and close to the motor for a 2-by-3-inch plate held on by two or four small screws. There will be an electrical connector plugged into it with five or six wires, depending on the heating and air conditioning type of control panel.
