Kick the Oil Habit
I have a heat pump with oil back up. Oil doesn't kick in and heat pump runs often?
Heat pump has been on much with cold recent days. The oil dosn't come on. I know the thermostat has 2 bulbs that are for this purpose. I guss I don't uniderstand the dynamics here, however, I would think that the oil back up system should kick in with the near 0 temperature ranges we've been having?
That type system would shut the heat pump off and run the back up heat when the outdoor thermostat told it to.
Somewhere there is a control that does that. The setting may need to be raised if the heat pump is not keeping up.
