Opponent Bag

What gloves do i need for the Century Bob?
I have heard on reviews that the century bob (body opponent bag) is the best thing to train kickboxing/boxing/and muay thai on. Peoples only complain with the century BOB is that you need to wear gloves or your hands will get tore up. So my question is what kind of gloves do i need to train on BOB example: boxing gloves, training gloves, mma gloves, mma training gloves, heavy bag gloves etc...A specific brand would be even more helpful.
The gloves are just to protect your hands so whichever enough to protect you is fine. Also remember that the BOBs although the good ones quite sturdy but they swing quite a bit so you won't be punching it like you are punching a heavy bag.

His Majestys Opponent (Paperback) $37.13 The man whom Indian nationalists perceived as the ?George Washington of India? and who was President of the Indian National Congress in 1938?1939 is a legendary figure. Called Netaji (?leader?) by his countrymen, Subhas Chandra Bose struggled all his life to liberate his people from British rule and, in pursuit of that goal, raised and led the Indian National Army against Allied Forces during World War II. His patriotism, as Gandhi asserted, was second to none, but his actions aroused controversy in India and condemnation in the West. Now, in a definitive biography of the revered Indian nationalist, Sugata Bose deftly explores a charismatic personality whose public and private life encapsulated the contradictions of world history in the first half of the twentieth century. He brilliantly evokes Netaji`s formation in the intellectual milieu of Calcutta and Cambridge, probes his thoughts and relations during years of exile, and analyzes his ascent to the peak of nationalist politics. Amidst riveting accounts of imprisonment and travels, we glimpse the profundity of his struggle: to unite Hindu and Muslim, men and women, and diverse linguistic groups within a single independent Indian nation. Finally, an authoritative account of his untimely death in a plane crash will put to rest rumors about the fate of this ?deathless hero.?This epic of a life larger than its legend is both intimate, based on family archives, and global in significance. His Majesty`s Opponent establishes Bose among the giants of Indian and world history. |

McCoy begins with a look at the proper technique to use when breaking down an opponent. He passes along three secrets that your wrestler can use to get an advantage over his opponent before the whistle even blows! From there he moves into scoring from the top, starting with a tilt series. This series features five different tilts your wrestler can use based on what his opponent does or how much time is left. McCoy always looks to score with a tilt first, but if he can't he flows into a leg series or bar arm series. He shows a number of different scoring variations to use from these two series. With all these options available, McCoy shows how easy it will be for your wrestler to float from one scoring opportunity to another.51 minutes. 2002. |

Striking BOB (body opponent bag) with Kenpo, Karate, & Kali emptyhand, stick & knife
Body opponent bag vs. Reg hanging bag? ?
I finally decided to buy something to beat up at home. So i found a Body opponent bag for $250 and was planning on picking it up when my friend offered a heavy bag stand and 60lb bag to me for free. Me being a 20 year old male see 60 lbs as not enough. So i am looking for some advice on getting the B.O.B or paying for a heavier hanging bag.
Just looking for some +'s and -'s on both the B.O.B and a normal hanging bag.
more info- space is not an problem either way. I like to punch and kick. plan on using a lot. Plan on hitting it hard.
O.k.
B.O.B.
Pros
Can improve accuracy of punches and kicks
Cons
Can't hit B.O.B.'s back as its hard plastic
Unrealistic as a real opponent won't face you squarely
Flies back when hit so you have to keep adjusting it
Heavy Bag
Pros
Harder surface
Can use a variety of techniques
Cons
Swings when hit(this can improve timing though)
Can take up more space(depends)
P.S.
This is only a rough assessment

Ok.. This goes out to all of the tools that think this guy is a “pussy” and or can't fight. If you read the info on the vid it says “All this done in a slow rythm, without speed and efforts involved.” So he is doing it slow for one and not even really trying. My bet is that if any of you hardasses met him in real life and fought him and he did a combo on you involving those “slaps” (As some tool referred to them as) he would definitely give you the buisness. Placement wins over power any day.

I wonder (but don't tell me) what I'm holding in my bag if the very thought of shadow work makes me feel like I am no longer in my body. Psychodrama…no, I don't think so. I guess this is why my shrink mostly just sits there mute with a pleasant look on her face.
Don't. Rock. Boat.
I'm glad you had a good time though. I think I'll go lie down now. :0
