When you have a lot of upper back/shoulder/neck blade pain?

does it make ur bodys muscles temporarily weaker and look less large? I suffered a muay thai injury to my neck a while ago and was lifting and it came back full force. There are shooting pains on my right arm and my whole back/spine just hurts. Would this make my muscles look smaller. I looked so much more...errr not trying to sound cocky....but i looked buff yesterday and today i look like i hardly have any arms (im not huge but i have respectable muscle mass for my age) any info or personal experience would be nice. like i cant even lie down and do a leg raise it causes too much pain and my muslces just feel too weak
after what happened im getting a trainer. I tried a new exercise that was for my back and i messed up doing it. I also think its this bad because of the muay thai injury ( i got put in a clinch and whipped down really hard)3

Ok I suggest not lifting anymore if you suffered an injury like that.

About the mucle size. Usually when you work out, you muscles get pumped for a short peroid of time. They can seem to look alot larger then if you wern't working out and may feel like your arms are as light as feathers after a work out.

Amazing Thailand - Muay Thai Boxing Knockouts

in really bad pain after holding pads (thai boxing)?

ok well not been doing muay thai long about 3-4 weeks, and had to hold pads for someone today every time he kicked the pads i could feel my arms taking all the pressure not the pads, i thought i was doing it wrong but the instructor showed me and i did exactly what he said and my arms felt like they was going to break with every kick, my arms get really sweaty and make the pads slip abit could this be the problem? or is it just something my bones and muscles need to get used to? im not an unfit person i go gym around 3-4 times a week aswell as thai boxing once a week, could anyone who knows anything on the subject help me please....thanks

You most likely just have to get used to it. I had the same problem, and it goes away after a bit. I compare it to when football players get into hitting shape during 2 a days. They may be in shape but hitting shape is getting their body conditioned to trauma. A lot of it may be mental, and some of it is just getting the weak cells to die and be replaced by stronger tougher ones. Just like when a broken bone heals it heals back stronger. Now there is always a chance that the fellow kicking is just a powerful guy, if that is the case ask him to ease up a bit, or just deal with it. Muay Thai is friggin tough, but your body will adjust in time.
