Piece Platform Boxing
would this work for me?
i cant afford to go into agility, so could i use house hold items?
for jumps i was thinking two boxes with a plank (light, pine) piece of ciruclar wood balanced across.
for hurdles, some more of them, just made with different distances between them.
a platform of some kind, like a small coffee table to jump and sit on.
a kiddies little play tunnel rather than a tunnel for agility.
got nothing for a ramp, nor seesaw, ideas welcome!....
and anything else you can add.
I live in the UK and the Agility club subscriptions here are very cheap. Nevertheless if you can cobble up something in the garden/yard, your dog can have fun every day. I agree with the ideas that you have had so far..
I have a book called "Agility is fun" written by Ruth Hobday. This gives instructions on making agility equipment and how to teach your dog to weave etc., I used to compete in agility.
Regardless of what you do at home, I think that you should take your dog to obedience classes for socialisation.
Now I do heel work to music, dogs love this and you do not need any equipment for this. However if your can get a clicker and clicker train your dog you will get very quick results. Clicker cost about £3 in the UK.

Beware do not try to cobble up a see saw as your dog could have an accident. A plank on bricks can be a substitute.

Where can I buy a platform bed with a solid bottom?
I am looking for a king size platform bed -- the real kind of platform.
I type in platform beds in yahoo only to find beds with legs and slats! That is not a true platform bed.
I have an awesome (queen) size platform bed that looks like it's floating on air. It's got a solid wood under the mattress that connects to sides. Under that solid flat piece there is a smaller, square piece that raises it in the air a bit. It's sort of low, but not too low, and not too high. This is what I'm looking for, only in a king size. (I got this platform in the 80's.)
The platform is like a short box, that allows you to stick the mattress inside the platform (therefore it wouldn't shift). It comes up on the sides about 3-4".
I don't want to spend a lot of money on it, I'm looking for reasonably priced.
