Power Bag Gloves
I have a very weak punch! Is it possible to make it harder?
I have such a weak punch. I don't understand why. When i throw a punch it feels really unnatural and i just cant seem to get any power in it. Its not a slow punch at all but there is just no power.
I have very thin hands and wrists but the rest of my arm is fine. When i hit a boxing bag i seem to get a pain in my wrists and forearms. I hit it with gloves on also. i weight about 12 stone. Me and my Friends went for a day out and we all had a go on one of those punching machines, It went up to 300 and they all hit around 200-230 while when i hit it i was only hitting it for 130. So i felt ashamed.
Is there a way for me to get a harder punch or is it just because of my genetics and im just not meant to be a puncher?
A good punch is about a lot of muscles: shoulder, body, arm and wrist!
It's useless to only work biceps because the power came from all your body.
First you could hit that boxing bag again and again, that would give you the base. A trick to hit harder is to balance all your body on the front while punching, that would give to your punch your body power AND your weight!
Another thing is the speed of your punch, at least that could give you the impression of a good punch! To get that speed here's a good technique:
- Get some vinyl dumbbells, grab 1 in each hand and start shadowboxing (as if you were fighting an invisible partner). Do it for 1 o 2 minutes, then drop the dumbbells, and punch your boxing bag with your gloves. You'll see that your punches are getting faster: that's how you gonna get muscles and speed.
