Can i use mma gloves on a punching bag or is it better to use boxing gloves i do mma so i know how to punch?
The best thing to use is hand wraps - someone above has said you damage your hands going bare knuckle on a bag, this is wrong. You damage your wrists more so when your hands aren't covered (the worst you'll get is scratches and bruising on the knuckles).Training gloves absorb a lot of the impact and provide your wrist with some support so are ok.
I find hand wraps, with a lot of emphasis on the wrist being strapped are the best. This way you have adequate support and your conditioning your knuckles at the same time.
Boxing gloves are ok to use because you will get a quicker punch when you switch over to MMA gloves. The only problem with this is - if your hands aren't conditioned they are going to break.
