CD should have better sound but it depends what the source is for the cd.
Vinyls always have those sound interruptions caused by dust on them.

How many good listens will I get out of a vinyl record before quality decreases.?
I handle them with care, use inner and outer (sealed) record sleeves of the best quality, and brush my records before use.
I'm no expert on this, but look after them and they will play fine for years. Be careful how you clean them. I've got records 35 years old and they still sound great.
