Character name help, please?
I'm working on the beginnings of a novel, but I can't think of many character names. (This stumps me nine times out of ten.)
So far I have only a few character names:
Austin Etienne--the love interest (yes, it's a romance)
Dallas Etienne
Houston Etienne
Reno Etienne
and Savannah Etienne
These four are siblings and are named after US Cities.
Dimitri Stiles (the narrator's older brother)
I need a name for the main female lead/narrator of the story.
I'd like her name to be unique. And it needs to sound good with Austin.
About her: she's shy around new people. But when you get her out of her shell she's loud, funny, and sarcastic. She tends to be opinionated and thick-headed despite her quiet demeanor. She loves music and is an impressive artist. Her brother is over-protective of her.

I found a tick on my hip?
It was red and had faded yellow spots and was kinda flat.
Anyways it was dark in my room and I thought I just had food or something stuck on me so I just flicked it off my hip. Then I felt it again on my arm and so I turned on the light and theres a tick on me! I knocked it off then tried to smash it with the tip of my scissors and it was like a frickin rock it wouldnt die! So then I took the stuff I use to clean my belly button piercing and poured it on the tic out of panic and it stopped moving for a bit and so i flushed it.
It was a dog tick Im pretty sure and it makes sense because I let my puppy play outside a lot.
Anyways my question is why couldnt I smash the tic? Do they have some kind of protective shell or something? Should I have done something differently? It didnt sink its head into my skin yet so I should be ok right?
Of course they have a protective shell. All bugs have exoskeletons, and they have to be thick and tough or they'd get killed just being around other things. If you had to hang out in the boonies and hitch rides, you'd have a thick hide as well. Next time, try cutting it with the scissors instead of smashing it. Or just flush the stupid thing. They do have to breathe after all, and the long swim won't be pleasant for long.
