Skip Rope
how can I learn to skip rope?
when i try I can only do about 4 jumps at most & then I get the rope round my feet!
I find I also have to jump really high to clear the rope when others seem to barely leave the ground!
Help!
Well first, practice. Nothing comes right away. You might be so out of shape that you get too tired and then the coordination goes.
But here's some tips:
1. Get a good rope. If you fold it in half, it should reach your arm pits.
2. Do a couple of good jumps, then stop.
3. Practice doing small jumps without the rope. Pretend you had a rope.
4. Use your wrists, not your arms for turning the rope. It's a little movement.
5. Jump from the ankles, not the knees.
