Hi guys. What can I make with a bag of Granny Smith Apples? Either baked or in the crock pot? Thanks!?
I don't have any boxed cake mixes or bisquick, although I have the ingredients to make them too. Thanks.
APPLE CHEESE TOPPING
Use this spread on bagels, toast, or crackers.
8 oz pkg of cream cheese at room temperature
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 medium-size peeled cored Granny Smith apple
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried thyme, basil or oregano
In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese and lemon juice. Grate apple directly into cheese mixture. Sprinkle with black pepper and dried herb. Cover bowl and chill approximately 1 hour.
SNICKER APPLE SALAD
6 full sized SNICKER bars
6 to 8 medium granny smith apples
1 lb. Cool Whip
Freeze Sniker bars overnight and crush. Core and peel apples. Mix with Cool Whip and crushed candy about 1/2 hour before serving.
CROCKPOT APPLE BETTY
3 lbs. cooking apples
10 slices of bread, cubed (about 4 cups)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
Wash apples, peel, core, cut into eighths; place in bottom on crock. Combine bread cubes, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, sugar, butter; toss together. Place on top of apples in crock. Cover. Place crock into outer shell. Cook on LOW setting 2 to 4 hours.
FRIED APPLE PIES
(my favorite w/vanilla bean ice cream)
4 peeled, thinly sliced Granny Smith apples
1/2 c. water
1/2 stick butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. raisins
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Cook apples until done, cool to room temperature. Open a can of crescent rolls, unroll the triangles and let them warm some. With your hands, carefully stretch the rolls out a little. Lay one crescent on a plate, fill with the apple mixture (make sure its not too hot or too cold) and top with a matching crescent. Pinch the edges together. Heat some oil in a skillet, place pies in oil and fry. (Be careful, the crescents brown quickly.) Brown on both sides. Remove from skillet, put on a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
TAFFY APPLE DIP
1 stick butter or margarine
1/2 c. light corn syrup
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 can Eagle Brand milk
Apple wedges - tart apples are best (like Granny Smith)
Optional: peanuts chopped to dip apples in after the caramel
Boil 1-2 minutes the butter, sugar and syrup. Add the 1 can Eagle Brand milk; mix well. Dip apples and enjoy. Serves well in a crockpot to keep warm continually without scorching. For parties may need to double or triple recipe. Easy to store in jars in refrigerator. Excellent on vanilla ice cream also.

Question:
A company sells a box of 50 matches
Mr. Smith selects one box from each batch of 1000 boxes and empties the contents. The company produces 100 batches each day, so he repeats this process 100 times. He then adds up all the matches and divides the total by 100. If the answer is between 47.5 and 52.5 matches he claims he has a 95% confidence that the volume is 50 matches per box.
Evaluate the strengths and limitations in no more than 200 words.
So I think the key limitation is that the boxes are not made on the same day. The 1000 boxes occur over a 10 day span so there could be a very large difference within that time period.
The strength is that on average the boxes have around 50 matches each.
