Recently I'm taking up boxing/kickboxing as a hobby/sport and while trying to buy gloves for my speed ball and double ended speed ball, I kept running into which to buy and whats the difference. Between http://www.loadedbases.com/wobaggl.html and http://www.loadedbases.com/womensbagglove.html Maybe its obvious, but to me it seems like these two products are supposed to do the same thing even though they are totally different looking.
If anybody can help this rookie out, that would be great.
Thanks
Try Windy gloves they are made for Muay Thai. You can also try Ringside, Grant, or Cleto Reyes they make excellent gloves for training. If you're not going to compete or spar, a fine pair of bag gloves should be good. you don't need to spend money on training gloves or competition gloves. You can find these products at ringside.com or cletoreyes.com
postnote; ALWAYS use handwraps with you bag gloves.
Stay away from Everlast they make junk. I know from first hand experience.
I just looked at the two gloves you're looking to purchase. Century makes garbage also. Stay away from them.

Is punching the lower half of a punching bag bad?
i use to hit the punching bag with speed bag gloves.. it didnt hurt at all then didn't use the bag for about a year now that i actually want to use it again i get heavy bag gloves and it hurts but im punching the lower half.. so is that why it hurts? im also using hand wraps
Those are gut shots. They should be just as much involved in your training as higher shots. Just remember to lower yourself, because there's no power or stability of hitting low if your not centering your punches with body.
Yes, if you just started hitting the lower half, then that's why it hurts. The lower half is heavier and your wrists or hands aren't used to the impact. They'll strengthen up eventually.
Try more combos. Hit high a few times, then drop drop down and hit low, and so on and so forth.
You need a heavy bag ( the most important piece of training equipment), training gloves (i prefer 14 oz), mouthpiece, headgear, boxing shoes, handwraps and a jump rope. The jump rope isn't necessary but I find it very useful for conditioning. Heavy bag gloves dont work well on a speedball, your supposed to just use your bare heands or just the wraps.
