Displaying Action Figures With Spring Activated Parts In, Or Out?
I have several action figures and toys with spring activated parts, parts that shoot out when a button is pressed. I want to keep the figures and toys in as good condition as possible, so when they are displayed, should the parts be kept in the tightly coiled sockets? Or should the parts be kept out, relaxing the spring? Would keeping the parts in the spring sockets eventually weaken the springs?
Great question. I have never thought about this until now. I wouldn't think it would matter much as I have bought several Godaikin figures from the 70's and the missiles have been inserted for over 30+ years and they worked fine. But of course Japanese toys from the 70's were built to the highest specs iimaginable and newer toys are not made as well in some toy lines. I couldn't actually give a definite answer without looking at the toys. But my first answer is they would be fine inserted.

Wow, they are dying off like the bees, huh? That was probably due to genetically engineered foods. Alot of people don't know this, but bats are very important to the ecosystem.

I do not have a degree in early childhood education, but I do agree with your disipline approach. The other teacher is sending a wrong message to the child and is showing that violence is okay to get what you want. Now the child will probably tell another child, if you do not hand me that toy I will make your body give it to me.

Hi Kreuzer,
Stupid is as stupid does and this Broward County Florida school has the word stupid written all over them. Talk about your going overboard.
When it was known this was just a spring action toy gun that shot plastic pellets, the only thing that should have gone down was to tell the parents they prefer their child doesn't bring any toy gun that shoots plastic pellets as if he played with it on the playground another child could possibly get shot in the eye with a pellet in play. Nothing else should have happened. Pure form of idiots in the making.
Now a child has missed a whole year out of school for no good reason. jmo.
