What's your prediction for Pacquiao vs Cotto?
What Round? Is it going to be a TKO, a KO, a decision, Unanimous, split? I say Pac-man knocks out (KO) Cotto in the 7th!
Cotto alone was the one who suggested the 145 catch weight and not Pacquiao. Cotto has never weighted 147 in any of his fights with Clottey, Mosley, or Quintana. He has always weighted 146 pounds, so the 1 pound cut will do 0% unconstructive upshot to his boxing ability. Cotto weighter 147 once in his career at welterweight against Margarito and once at 145 vs Zab Judah. This is Cotto’s advantage, indeed.
Cotto is the most underrated boxer today and he has always been one of my favorites. To me and also in many people's perceptions, he is the real welterweight champ. He has fought rigid competition and fought the best in that weight class. He is a better welterweight than Mosley, Berto, or Mayweather. I frankly deviate with the Ring Magazine P4P rankings where they have Donnaire above Cotto.
Pacquaio's principal weapon is his speed. Speed kills and speed equals power. He throws high velocity of punches that not even the naked eye or natural human impulse or spontaneous reflex can sense. David Diaz and Oscar De La Hoya both suggested that Pacquiao is so fast; they felt Freddie Roach was there too.
Pacquiao throws high dimensions of punches coming from different angles that flings his opponents in deplorable modes and places them in motionless conditions which they find it impossible to counter.
Cotto has the strength advantage but I think his notorious body shots will be insufficient to find Pacquiao as Pacquaio has one of the best lateral footwork movements in today's era.
But momentum is perhaps Pacquiao’s most vital advantage. He has been upsetting and defying the odds and has not succumb to all the negative denigration but instead displaying such stunning execution of his opponents.
