What would You recon, who is doing the best gear for muay thai. I mean those monsters like thai samai, twins or king. I've got shin pads of thai smai, they r ok, but wanna get pads, gloves(my r far from perfect). Have You got any reviews? Thanks.

How come Muay Thai gloves are so expensive?

My MT gym has 3 types of gloves available:

Cheap leather(gym labelled brand)-$130CAD
Twins Special-$170CAD
Windy-$190CAD

The Twins Special and Windy are genuine leather.

Then I go online to MT sites and eBay and they are selling Twins and Windys(genuine leather) for $37-60.

What gives? I know a gym's gotta make some money cause they are a business as well, but the prices vary A LOT. Is there something about the gloves that you can buy online that I don't know about?
BTW I went to a local website and they sell the Twins gloves for $139 so yeah.

there aren't many manufacturers of them, and the people charge the prices cause they know no one is going to fight with out them.

I don't know if its the same, but I got some fighting gloves at D i c ks sporting goods for 39.99....

   Well I have an everlast, $99 at wally world and about 80 lbs, sand and rope fill, I think. I like it and the only problem I can think of with it is that after so long, all the sand sank to the bottom, so all my kicks below the waist are hitting a solid target. If you do not shin condition then it will get you well on your way.

   Other than, the bag has lasted through quite a bit, and I do real MA's, not the powerless new age ones that you see on TV.
