Black Ballet flats for spring formal?
I've been thinking about going to a spring formal but my mom thinks that neither the dress or the shoes i looked at were formal enough.
But now she has changed her mind on the dress, but not the shoes...
help back me up :-p

P.S. I really HATE heels and i don't want to wear them. I personally think the flats are delicate enough to be formal, but that's me :
first i absolutely ADORE that dress its sooo cute and i would be so jealous and the shoes go great with the dress i think that it would work for the spring formal because you don't want something that is too fancy because then you will just look way to overdressed

Vintage 1950s Black Satin Party Dress
What do you guys think of this dress?

I got the size 4, but my friend has a similar style dress in that size and it was too big, so I guess I could have it taken in, but I'm also second guessing the style.

I think it's very pretty but I wouldn't wear it unless it didn't have all those details on it. I like dresses that are both beautiful and simple at the same time. Not big on prints or heavy details. The color and the shape of this dress is very lovely.

Talking of over-identification with characters in The Archers, I think fanoflinda might well be channelling the Great Lama-farmer herself. Either that or we shall have to conclude that she is, in fact, matron at a prep school somewhere in the home counties.
As for white leather sofas … let's just say that I can't imagine Nelson ever had one (although I do remember he had black satin sheets so perhaps I'm wrong).
No takers on the Mark Hebden death-smash mystery then?

i really didn't think i'd want the girly stuff, but i just bought the bestest party dress for mercy's first birthday (yes, not until june, but i couldn't walk out of the store with it still hanging there) with polka dots two different shades of pink. it has a crinoline skirt (yep! that girly!) with black satin ribbon on the edge, a black satin sash, and tiny black polka dots mixed with the pink. it's amazing! i absolutely cannot wait to see her in it! and i have not been able to put it away – it is still draped over the back of the kids' rocker where i put things at night that need to go back to their room.
